Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions and their answers
Q. What constitutes a six figure salary package?
A six figure salary package is defined as any quantifiable dollar sum that totals $100,000. This could be represented as: $80,000K base plus 9% superannuation ($7,200), a laptop valued at $2,800 and a $10,000 car allowance. It can also include guaranteed bonuses and commissions, petrol allowances, education, health care, etc.
What would not be accepted as a six figure salary package would be a $45,000 base with an OTE of $120,000 as this is not likely to be feasible. Nor do we accept salaries that say "Earn up to ...", as these can be misleading.
Q. What are the main differences between Six Figures different and other job sites?
Six Figures is a niche job site that is exclusively for six figure package jobs. The large general sites cater for all jobs, across all industries and salary levels. Research now shows that a niche site provides employers with a more effective sourcing channel than traditional print and generalist sites.
Six Figures has a targeted audience of job seekers, who receive an exclusive service when they become Members of the site. Other job sites don't offer a Membership service as they are volume and transaction based. Six Figures is the only online site that is equally service focussed towards the employer and job seeker.
Q. Advertising a position on Six Figures takes more time than other job sites. Why is this the case?
Unlike Six Figures, other job sites do not have standards around the quality, relevance or legitimacy of information being placed on their site. Six Figures is focussed on sharing more information upfront between employers and job seekers. Providing genuine, relevant and detailed information does require more time upfront; however, it assists in attracting more relevant applications and saves time during the recruitment process. That being said, we offer a Quick Start position process that allows you to enter the minimum information for a job ad on one page.
Q. How does Six Figures interface with HRIS and eRecruit Solutions such as Taleo and PageUp?
Currently Six Figures is a stand alone site and does not interface with these solutions. However, we will shortly be integrated with eQuest, and are investigating how to interface with other relevant providers in the near future.
Q. Our business does not have the time or information to complete the business profile. Can we still advertise our jobs on the site?
Completing the business profile is optional. However, today's educated and savvy job seekers are looking to make an informed decision on whether or not they apply for a position with a business, and to do so require more information upfront about the job and the employer to base their decision upon. High salary earners in particular are increasingly reluctant to go through agencies and generalist job sites for this very reason, as frequently little information is made available about the employer. If a business cannot complete the mandatory fields in the business profile section to publish their profile, we ask that they contact us for assistance on 1300 780 177.
Q. Our business is still unsure about the effectiveness of multimedia and Web 2.0. Can we still advertise on the site even though we don't use any multimedia?
Six Figures acknowledges that Web 2.0 is still very new for most businesses. Many are struggling to understand what it is and how to utilise it in their business, particularly when it comes to attracting job seekers. Businesses do not have to use the multimedia features on the site and can simply use text and insert their business logo if that is what they are comfortable with. We do however encourage and support businesses to start looking at utilising new media if they want to attract top talent. Just as businesses want to hire the talent with the best skills and experience, the top job seekers want to work for progressive businesses that are also up to speed with the latest business practises, standards, ethics and technology.
Q. Our business is already locked into advertising agreements with other job sites. Do you lock your clients into agreements?
Six Figures offers you a variety of advertising options, including a standard ad, ad packages and unlimited advertising. Businesses make the choice based on their hiring needs and budgets. We do have the option for businesses to enter into an agreement which is very beneficial for them, particularly as the business can have their live multimedia business profile working for them all year, where they can advertise upcoming positions as well as business news and their employer brand to attract active and passive talent.
Six Figures is a niche site for your high salary positions only and we understand that you will have a number of agreements in place with the generalist mainstream sites.
Q. How do we contact Members of Six Figures?
Six Figures is not a resume mining service, whereby you can go onto the site and search Member details and make contact. Only when you advertise a job and you receive applications from Members for your job can you view their profile and make contact. Any Member that applies for your job can be contacted however we encourage you to take note of their preferred contact times and form of contact before doing so.
Q. If we hire two people who we have short-listed from a job we advertise on Six Figures, do we have to pay a fee?
When you advertise a job on Six Figures and receive applications from Members you only pay to advertise the job. You can contact all of the Members who apply for your job and should you hire two of them, you do not have to pay an additional fee.
Q. How many user accounts can a business have on the site?
Each business can only have one user account.
Q. How do you guarantee the suitability of the Members who apply for jobs with us?
We cannot ever guarantee that you only receive suitable applications for your jobs. The word 'suitable' is very subjective and impossible to measure, particularly when dealing with people and jobs. Simialrly, we cannot guarantee Members that every job and business they apply for is going to be successful and the right one for them. However, Six Figures does offer businesses and job seekers a trusted online site where they can share information and connect in privacy. Not every connection will result in a hire. Our focus and goal is that every Member that connects with your business has a positive experience, even if they are not successful in securing the job.
Q. What is the value in having a Business Profile on Six Figures?
Today's six figure job seekers are likened to high-end consumers. They are just as interested in the job as they are in the business it is with. More importantly, they want to know what the business does and what they will do for them. With 59% of job seekers going online to look for employment, many businesses don't offer a very compelling or engaging online employer branding story to interest job seekers to apply.
Six Figures offers businesses the platform to sell their online employer brand in a way that appeals to today's job seekers. We provide and manage the platform and give your business the tools and support to feed the information into, using the latest Web 2.0 technology. It is simple, cost effective and most importantly it works.
Q. Can other businesses see our business profile?
Businesses cannot see other business' profiles, unless an individual from that business is registered as a Member and logs into the site to explicitly search for businesses.
Q. At the six figures salary package end, don't most of these people find jobs through their networks and print media?
In the past this may have been true, however today with everything moving online it is inevitable that the recruitment process should follow. CareerOne recently had statistics that last year in Australia 51% of people found their job online. So the old myths are no longer true. Networks and employee referral schemes will always be the most effective way for sourcing talent, with research showing that niche job sites followed by generalist job sites are the next most effective sources of talent. Print media is now a very ineffective sourcing channel, even for high end positions.
Q. What support do you offer businesses advertising on the site?
Businesses advertising on Six Figures have access to a Help Desk service during business hours, with each business having their own dedicated National Account Executive to assist with developing your business profile, job ads and other queries that arise.
Q. How do you protect the privacy of businesses advertising on the site?
Businesses advertising on Six Figures disclose information at their discretion. We don't ask businesses to disclose information that would not be made public at other times. Information about a business, such as what they do, their people and culture, and benefits of working with the business, are provided for the purpose of attracting the interest of Members who are looking to be more informed, before they apply.
