Events

Online Divas, Sydney, Tuesday 28th October 2008

Kelly Magowan and Karen Jenkin will be speaking at the forthcoming Online Divas event for entrepreneurial women in an online world.

AHRI Conference, Melbourne, May 2008

Six Figures had a booth at the AHRI Conference held at the Melbourne Convention Centre. The conference was a great opportunity to meet with a lot of HR professionals from the corporate world, in addition to many educational institutions and government departments. The uptake by educational institutions using Six Figures has been very high and is evidence of how progressive the education sector is. Also, we were told our showbags were the most sought after at the Conference!

Australiasian Talent Conference, Sydney, March 2008

Six Figures had one of the most popular stands at this year's Australasian Talent Conference (ATC) in Sydney, which was a tremendous success. With top speakers on talent attraction and retention from around the globe and many innovative and highly regarded businesses there to find out about the future of talent acquisition the enthusiasm was in the air about the new face of hiring.

Six Figures Member lunch

Last month's member lunch with James Tuckerman was won by Six Figures Member Ben, who had this to say about the experience:

"Thanks to Six Figures, my Wednesday lunchtime last week was a fair bit more inventive than usual. I am not sure whether it was weirder for James Tuckerman or for me - meeting a complete stranger for lunch to talk about ... what? However we both seemed to get over that quickly enough, presented with an appropriately creative menu. James said that he had never "been a prize" before, which was fine because I have never "won a date" before; even a business one.

James was easy company and it turned out that in creative thinking we had at least a common conceit. James is living proof that not much is impossible if you both really want it and can articulate the steps you need to make it happen - breaking the problem down into bite sized chunks (as we were doing to the melt-in-the-mouth steak in front of us).

James flattered my observation about the marketing guy being responsible mainly for reminding the executive team that their customer doesn't know as much about their business as they do!...a simple truth that I'm hoping makes it into the Anthill. The meeting was a very worthwhile experience and I hope James got something out of it too, other than one more Anthillian."
